The coming weekend marks one of the most important dates in U.S. collegiate rowing, with a tremendous number of championship titles on the line all over the country. Here are our thoughts, opinions, and educated guesses as to just what will transpire when oars meet water at the Pac-12, Ivy League, Eastern Sprints, Conference USA, Big East, and Big Ten Championships—let's take a look, shall we?

This week's video comes to us from EARC Sprints, and features an inside look at the Dartmouth lightweight eight, which took the silver behind then-undefeated Harvard in Worcester. The video includes a recording of the Big Green coxswain as he guides the crew all the way down the course, as well as some 'epic' music. Dartmouth head coach Dan Roock is now getting ready to host a USRowing sanctioned development camp for the senior lightweight eight, beginning July 6 at 2pm at the Friends of Dartmouth Rowing boathouse. The selected crew will compete at the 2011 US Senior Trials for a chance to race at the 2011 World Championships in Bled, Slovenia. For a full press release from Rowing News, click here . Just uploaded today, this week's VOTW comes to us from Worcester, and features all the heavy hitters in the varsity eight from the East. Again, the Tigers have provided excellent video coverage, as they did live via their website over the weekend. The video is shot from the launch, and follows the crews all the way down the course, with Harvard in the near lane, Princeton to their left, and Wisconsin in lane 3. Great racing across the board, and, as we predicted last week, Princeton managed to pip Wisco at the line for the silver medal, as Wisco likely trained through this regatta with their eyes on the IRA, now just over two weeks away. Brown also had a great race, crossing the line just over a second behind Wisconsin. Syracuse and BU were just slightly off the pace, finishing roughly 7 and 8 seconds behind Harvard, respectively. With such strong crews from Harvard, Princeton, Wisconsin, Cal, Washington, and Brown, this year's IRA regatta will be well worth watching. Pi...

As we predicted last Fall, Steve Gladstone appears to have had an immediate and powerful effect on the Yale program, and now the Bulldogs will look to be duking it out with Harvard, Princeton, Boston University, Wisconsin and Brown in the Grand Final at Eastern Sprints next month. In the Yale dual with Brown, just over two weeks ago, the Yale Varsity 8 was very strong at base cadence, understroked Brown for most of the race, and simply failed to execute a sprint -- something that, as Gladstone indicated after the racing was done, and Yale had won in every other boat category outside of the 1st Frosh (just 1.2 seconds behind Brown), they had not yet worked on at that time.
