Video Of The Week: Winter Training with Oxford Brookes University Boat Club

This week's video comes to us from Harry Brightmore of the Oxford Brookes University squad, and features some high intensity, low-rate work on land and on the water, from Wallingford to Wimbleball. Not only is the technical rowing of a very high standard, but also the kit featured from 3:00 in is worthy of praise as well (are those hibiscus-print leggings?).

OBUBC is building on what was a very successful 2014 campaign with what looks to be an equally if not more competitive squad, and will no doubt be among the crews to watch in the Temple again this year at Henley. And, over the weekend, Brookes took on a Cambridge crew—from the look of it, Brookes gave them just about everything they could handle in an unofficial fixture on the Tideway (as evidenced by the Bandstand in the background at the outset of the below video):

No doubt more Boat Races banter is just around the corner, with the main event roughly six weeks away, set for April 11, 4:50 and 5:50pm GMT in London.
